3 "Adrr! Adrr! (To the right! To the right!) ... Gosy! Gosy! Gosy! (To the left! To the left! To the left!)" -- During the French colonial period, some ox-cart drivers, upon crossing path with a vazaha, would yell this revengeful and spiteful expression, while whipping their hapless oxen. Hearing "Addr!", the oxen aimed to the right toward the vazaha on the sidewalk, who might begin to worry. Hearing "Gosy!", the oxen aimed to the left, resuming to the correct path.

4 "Adrr! Adrr! (À droite! À droite!) ... Gosy! Gosy! Gosy! (À gauche! À gauche! À gauche!)" - Du temps de la colonie française, certains charretiers, croisant un vazaha dans la rue, poussaient ce cri de revanche et de mépris, le ponctuant de coups de fouet sur les flancs de leurs malheureux zébus. En entendant "Addr!", les zébus obliquaient à droite vers le vazaha sur le trottoir; le vazaha commençait à se faire du souci. En entendant "Gosy!", les zébus obliquaient à gauche por reprendre la bonne route.
